Executive Director Job Description
About the Organization
At Mesa County RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) we partner with over 80 non-profit organizations, filling essential positions with volunteers age 55 and over. We have four flagship programs that serve the community: Handyman program; SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program); Benefit Enrollment Center (helping low-income Medicare beneficiaries enroll in benefits they may be missing); and Senior Scholar program.
Overview
The Executive Director provides strategic leadership and overall management as we expand our programs and facilitate programs that benefit our volunteers and community. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and leads a strong administrative management team.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for operational budget development and management. This includes a budget narrative and all formats required for several types of grants.
•Responsible for overseeing financial transactions necessary to manage Mesa County RSVP.
•Responsible for forecasting and approving all expenses, properly allocating to the various programs.
•Responsible for research and coordination for grant proposals for Federal, State and local funds for developing and improving program capacity, administering and monitoring grants to achieve stated goals, and periodic status and data reports as required.
•Responsible for collaborating with the marketing committee and grant and fundraising committee to ensure the mission and integrity of Mesa County RSVP is accurately reflected in annual goals and community outreach.
•Manage and supervise the RSVP team, providing guidance and professional development. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and evaluating staff.
•Increase organizational visibility by being active in local community activities. Establish networks, outreach, and resources.
•May perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•Managerial and leadership experience preferred.
•Experience with and knowledge of finance, grant management and nonprofit governance.
•Experience with public speaking.

•$60,000 to 75,000, depending on experience
