Mesa County RSVP

Mesa County RSVP works in partnership with over 50 local organizations to fill essential positions with volunteers, aged 55 and over. Our volunteers change lives by providing their time and service to these organizations. We work with various organizations that offer a range of positions, but our areas of focus are defined by our signature programs.

  • Our SHIP program provides free, unbiased, Medicare Counseling.  Our trained counselors work year-round to help educate people on their healthcare options.
  • Our Handyman program provides labor to those needing help installing safety features in their homes.
  • Our Senior Scholar program partners with public, private, and charter schools in the valley to support their students in reading, math, and science.

Our 600 volunteers are here to help!

Our mission is to strengthen our community by engaging volunteers ages 55 and over!

Accountability, Life-long Learning, Integrity, Volunteerism, & Enjoyment

We are grateful to all of our donors, sponsors, and grantors. Without the support of this community, we could not continue to recruit volunteers to meet your needs.

Our Story

We opened our doors in 1973 as part of Community Social Services of Colorado West. In that first year, we recruited and placed 100 volunteers. In the years since, we have worked with thousands of volunteers, placing them in opportunities that strengthen the community by addressing local needs.

In 2000, after being part of a few different organizations, we became self-sponsored. As a 501(c)3 charitable organization, we are funded by donations from individuals and businesses, as well as grants. RSVP is funded in part through AmeriCorps Seniors.
