Mesa County RSVP works in partnership with local organizations to fill important volunteer needs by recruiting individuals age 55 and over. Mesa County RSVP volunteers change lives by providing their time and service to these organizations. While we work with a variety of organizations that offer a range of positions, our areas of focus are health care access and education; academic success of children K-12 in reading, math and science; and safe and affordable housing for low-income individuals and families. Our 600 volunteers are here to help.
Our mission is to strengthen our community by engaging volunteers ages 55 and over!
Accountability, Life-long Learning, Integrity, Volunteerism, & Enjoyment
We are grateful to all of our donors, sponsors, and grantors. Without the support of this community, we could not continue to recruit volunteers to meet your needs.
We opened our doors in 1973 as part of Community Social Services of Colorado West. In that first year, we recruited and placed 100 volunteers. In the years since, we have worked with thousands of volunteers, placing them in opportunities that strengthen the community by addressing local needs.
In 2000, after being part of a few different organizations, we became self-sponsored. As a 501(c)3 charitable organization, we are funded by donations from individuals and businesses, as well as grants. RSVP is funded in part through AmeriCorps Seniors.
